Hi Friends,
How are you all? Hope it has been
a nice day for all of you out there. I had a wonderful day by God’s grace. I
was kept busy by little one, but I always make time to watch a good movie.
Movies are not meant to give any social message as such as they are meant to
provide entertainment. But we as the audience can pick the message sometimes
which is hidden in the film. My blog is
not about giving lectures to you all about right and wrong, but I just present
my perspective about what I learnt from the movie I watched.
The movie that I bring forth
today is an Israeli comedy released in 2018, Maktub which is based on
two criminals Steve and Chuma who survive a terrorist attack and decide to mend
their ways. They resolve to help people by answering their prayers at the
wailing wall in Jerusalem. One of the main protagonists Steve, is not very keen
on doing it and longs to go to America with the money they have collected. But
the other one, keeps reminding his friend that they must help people with the
money, and this should be their purpose as God has saved them from the attack
to do so. It sounds a bit superstitious for some folks out there, but I have a
different point of view. I do not know whether God exists or not but certainly
hope exists and that is why we have faith and pray to our Gods in whichever
form he or she is.
This movie is a lighthearted comedy
with good content but gives us a message that whenever we pray, we bow down our
heads in front of the Almighty with a hope that whatever good that we wish for
is bound to happen. Hope is something on which the entire world survives, and
this movie brings exactly this principle to life. There are quite a few scenes like when they
get dressed as women which is quite hilarious especially when Steve donned the
ladies costume. They become angels to
some but devils to others in the process of helping like when they hang a boss
upside down outside the window of a multistoried building.
The performances by Guy Amir as
Chuma and Hanan Savyon as Steve have been the highlight of the movie. I liked
Hanan Savyon as he brings more to the table than anybody else in the movie.
Overall if I must state my opinion, it is a good movie. Everyone has their
choices and opinions. I saw this on Netflix. If you guys have appetite to watch
a good and different movie you can pick this one.
Please don’t forget to comment
