How to be different or unique from others

Image
How to be different from others 1. Make decisions on your own and stick to them. Listen to the discussions going on around you. Be a good listener but go ahead with what you feel is right and make your own decision. Do not depend on others for the choices you make and be proud and hold yourself responsible for whatever choices you make. 2. Be honest to yourself. Never lie to yourself. Do not try to emulate others. Just be yourself and be proud of who you are. One should be honest not just to others but also to oneself as you yourself are answerable to your conscious  at the end of the day. 3. Accept your flaws. Not everyone is perfect. We are all humans, not superhumans or God. We must admit to ourselves the flaws that we have and try to work on improving ourselves. Don't try to act as a perfect person as it leads to being dishonest and displaying your artificial self out there in the society and to yourself. 4. Respect Yourself. Learn to adore and respect yourself. God has made

Life is a challenge - take it.

Hey Everyone, I was devastated during the end of January this year as I was not able to clear my Level 2 Exams of CFA conducted by the CFA institute in December 2020. I was really heartbroken and I did not know how to face myself in the mirror. I had put in all my efforts but I felt kind of incapacitated when I saw my results. My daughter and husband were sleeping like angels. I had to break this news to my better half but I was falling short of words. The word 'DID NOT PASS' was staring back at me right on my face. Anyway, I gathered all the courage in the world to disclose my results to my husband and my mother. As I gave the news of my 'failure', I clearly remember, I almost felt as though I was reciting the toughest tongue twister in the whole world. They were equally shocked but like always they supported me like all families do. I was Inconsolable and crying like a small child. My little one when she woke up, hugged me and curiously asked "Mommy why are you

With love, to all parents. Parents are special.

Hi Everyone, This post is close to my heart. My parents and my In - laws are incredibly special to me. When I was a teenager, our school had various clubs and students were free to join whichever club they wanted. The club that I had joined had taken us on a trip to some park and then to an old age home. We were supposed to perform for them and spend time with them on that day. That day still holds good in memory. I can never forget those people who had so many stories to say about how they were thrown out of their homes by their children, and they did not even care to check on their well-being. Some old ladies were single mothers and had worked their entire lives so that they could provide good education, food, clothes, and all other comforts to their children. That day I had come home and hugged my parents and my grandmother and had shared the plight of the old age home with them. I had seen tears rolling down their eyes as well. I will never forget it my entire life. Today I am

Failures are stepping stone to success.

Hi Everyone, I had developed this passion for starting a blog way back in 2012. But it has materialized only now in 2021. Long time…. I do not know what I was waiting for. Maybe I was waiting for the right type of topic to choose to write about. But there is no right or wrong topic in the world of blogging. It is just what you feel, what you want to share and whether the content is good enough to keep the other person out there engaged. Somethings can take awfully long time to get through. I hope I am not boring you guys. Today I am bringing to you all a movie based on a true story of a Padma Shri Awardee - the fourth highest civilian award conferred by India to its citizens who have achieved something exceptional in their respective fields.   This movie is based on the invention of Laskhmi Asu Machine which reduced the efforts required by the weavers in Poochampally. This great feat was achieved by Mr. Chintakindi Mallesham of Sharajpet, Telangana – who was awarded the Padma Shri

A Strong Willpower works wonders.

Hi Everyone, After the death of my paternal grandfather, my grandmother started suffering from spondylitis. She could not stand properly, and she suffered from dizziness whenever she would make an attempt. Somebody had to hold her hand and take care of her. My father took her to a doctor in our town which was small at that time, and the doctor gave her some medications, asked her to do some sitting exercises, requested her to lie down most of the time and wear a belt round her neck for the entire day until the pain and the dizziness subsides. She followed the instructions and within a year she recovered and was able to lead her life exactly like she lived prior to the illness. I had seen many people wear the belt for longer periods of time, but she stopped wearing it within a year or so. She was disciplined in her approach, but the major take away was her amazing willpower to recover. She never once gave up but always fought. I really admire her for it and hope she is happy in her h

Love is beautiful.

Hi Everyone,   Marriages are sacred and they last a lifetime until death do us apart. When we commit ourselves to somebody, we commit for the rest our lives. Our better half is called as our soul mate and cheating on them is like hurting the feelings of our own soul. Me and my better half we fight like all couples do but reconcile. Sometimes we even ask each other ‘why the hell did I marry you’ or ‘was this marriage really necessary?’. But then this is life and life is full of hurdles and no relationship is a smooth ride. Today I am bringing to you Como Caido Del Cielo a Mexican (language: Spanish) romantic – comedy movie released in 2019. It is inspired from the life of a popular Mexican singer Pedro Infante, but the main theme revolves around the life of Pedro Guadalupe Ramos - a fictional character, an impersonator of Infante. Now the singer’s journey to heaven is suspended by God as he was a womanizer but sending him to hell is out of question as he had done good deeds as wel

Trust Yourselves Guys!!!

Hi Everyone, Today my daughter was trying to reach her color pencils which was not within her reach. I told her “honey wait I will fetch it for you” but then she replied “thank you mommy. I will get it myself”. I was quite astonished and informed her that she would not be able to reach the color pencils as they are far, she is too short, and her hands are tiny. But she kept insisting that she was capable enough of picking those pencils herself. She then bought a stick which she had bought from the garden and tried pushing and pulling the pack. She persisted, kept trying for quite a long time but finally managed to collect her colored pencils. I was quite amazed at her will power and thinking abilities, touch wood, but I must say I conceded defeat and told her how incredible she was in achieving her goal. She trusted her abilities and kept saying “yes, I can” a mantra which I had taught her to never ever give up hope and count on her capability. I was so proud as her mother and her

Find your Purpose Folks!!!

Hi Everyone, My daughter who is five years old likes to play with her medical toolkit. She goes around checking us – she says, “take a deep breathe mommy”. Then she checks my blood pressure, gives me injection, medicine, takes a close look at my eyes and finally writes some prescription – ‘ABC’ on her book. She tells me you better wear your glasses mommy. I tell her one day you will become a great doctor to which she replies “I am a doctor. Now I have to attend another patient – my pappa” 😊 Now based on this backdrop I am bringing to you guys a French movie The African Doctor (original title: Bienvenue a Marly – Gomont) released in 2016, the year when my little munchkin was born. This again is based on real life of an African man studying in France who turns down the job of the personal physician to the President of Zaire as he wants to avoid corruption rampant in his country. He is hired by the mayor of Northern France to serve the community there. When he informs his wife and ch

The Recipe to Success lies in Determination, Persistence and Failure.

The Recipe to Success lies in a person's Determination, Persistence and Failure. Maktub - The world rests on hope.

Hi Friends, How are you all? Hope it has been a nice day for all of you out there. I had a wonderful day by God’s grace. I was kept busy by little one, but I always make time to watch a good movie. Movies are not meant to give any social message as such as they are meant to provide entertainment. But we as the audience can pick the message sometimes which is hidden in the film.   My blog is not about giving lectures to you all about right and wrong, but I just present my perspective about what I learnt from the movie I watched. The movie that I bring forth today is an Israeli comedy released in 2018, Maktub which is based on two criminals Steve and Chuma who survive a terrorist attack and decide to mend their ways. They resolve to help people by answering their prayers at the wailing wall in Jerusalem. One of the main protagonists Steve, is not very keen on doing it and longs to go to America with the money they have collected. But the other one, keeps reminding his friend that
