Fetured Post

My way from corporate to role as home maker and now college life!!!

As a child, I used to play games with my siblings and friends and used to be school teacher for them. Draping a shawl borrowed from my mother's wardrobe, Closing the room, I used to grab my mother's economics book and read it. I was just 7 years old then.  I used stand in front of my little brother or sometimes no one , I used to hold a pencil and teach an empty room - the subject of economics. At that time, I never had any ambitions. It was just 'teacher - teacher' game.  As I started growing up, my friends started showing keen interest in science stream as there  was IT boom in that period. My relatives all around were encouraging their children to take up either the field of medical or engineering. As this trend continued, so did the emergence of coaching classes in various forms. But I had different idea. My parents never coerced me in taking a particular specialization. They completely left it to me and this was which I am very much thankful to them. After compl...

Find your Purpose Folks!!!

Hi Everyone,

My daughter who is five years old likes to play with her medical toolkit. She goes around checking us – she says, “take a deep breathe mommy”. Then she checks my blood pressure, gives me injection, medicine, takes a close look at my eyes and finally writes some prescription – ‘ABC’ on her book. She tells me you better wear your glasses mommy. I tell her one day you will become a great doctor to which she replies “I am a doctor. Now I have to attend another patient – my pappa” 😊

Now based on this backdrop I am bringing to you guys a French movie The African Doctor (original title: Bienvenue a Marly – Gomont) released in 2016, the year when my little munchkin was born. This again is based on real life of an African man studying in France who turns down the job of the personal physician to the President of Zaire as he wants to avoid corruption rampant in his country. He is hired by the mayor of Northern France to serve the community there. When he informs his wife and children about the offer, they assume that they will move to Paris. They are devastated to see when they see the reality that they must live in a ‘village’. This story is not about racial hatred. Since the villagers have never seen a black man, they do not pose trust in him and his family but also somewhat fear them.

You may feel why have I picked this movie??? It sounds so boring. Well no. As the movie progresses it shows how much the main protagonist finds a purpose – to serve the people whoever they are, whichever race or color or religion they belong to. His only motive in life as depicted in the film is to do selfless service and provide good education to his children. If you know in which direction you are supposed to go, you know where you will end up and for attaining that you will work extremely hard. This movie also talks about how people struggle to integrate with others. It tells us living together, blending with each other, understanding, and accepting another person’s culture promotes peace and prosperity.

I love recommending good or you can say awesome films to all of you because it gives me lot of joy as I consider all of you to be my friends. I will be waiting for you all to comment, subscribe and follow me on facebook and koo app. Keep watching for my next blogpost.

Bye folks.

Love you all,

Namitha.
