Fetured Post

My way from corporate to role as home maker and now college life!!!

As a child, I used to play games with my siblings and friends and used to be school teacher for them. Draping a shawl borrowed from my mother's wardrobe, Closing the room, I used to grab my mother's economics book and read it. I was just 7 years old then.  I used stand in front of my little brother or sometimes no one , I used to hold a pencil and teach an empty room - the subject of economics. At that time, I never had any ambitions. It was just 'teacher - teacher' game.  As I started growing up, my friends started showing keen interest in science stream as there  was IT boom in that period. My relatives all around were encouraging their children to take up either the field of medical or engineering. As this trend continued, so did the emergence of coaching classes in various forms. But I had different idea. My parents never coerced me in taking a particular specialization. They completely left it to me and this was which I am very much thankful to them. After compl...

Do the Exit polls 2024 show that there was a wave in favor of Narendra Modi???

The elections in India are held like a festival. Every place from hotels to parks to small shops, every person talks about politics. Let it be if not who is coming to power but at least you will get some idea during a conversation that who will be shown the door by the people of this country.

This time in most of the news channels, the anchors and a few analysts spoke about the chances the opposition might be having as there is an anti incumbency mood among the people of the country. Some people even said that people are bored with the face of Modi. They are looking for a change. People must have got what they had wanted. Now they are looking for a change. There is no wave like it was visible in 2014 or any sort of Nationalistic wave like it was after Pulwama in 2019. The Ram Mandir wave is not much except in a few places.  This was the general feeling.

Even I had the same impression. But the day I went to vote, I saw a long line in my booth where normally that is not the scene and people were not angry about the present dispensation. They were not even bored. But they were looking for a even a better, safe and secure future under the leadership of Mr. Modi. There was a silent wave. Let it be my friends or nearby shop or even the rickshawallahs. With who so ever I spoke, people sounded happy and did not want to see any change. The vote is for Modi and only for Modi, they would say.

There was not much chatter like we hear in the news studios or the debates. The voters were silent. They were listening to both the narratives. But they kept their cards close to their chest. The pollsters, the news anchors were all confused. Nobody expected that what the Prime Minister had predicted from the floor of the Parliament about the mood of the nation, it will be reflected in the exit polls.

In 1984, a wave of sympathy had swept India which had given such huge numbers to Late Mr. Rajiv Gandhi. But this time, the nation had seen 10 years of Mr. Narendra Modi and based on the performance people came out to vote. Many had expected after the yatras of Mr. Rahul Gandhi, Congress would revive and also the anti incumbency would bring down the numbers for BJP. Looks like that's not the case.

Well, it was an interesting election. Fiercely fought from both the sides. Various narratives came into the picture but the Janta had made up its mind.

Now, will the Exact polls be the same as Exit polls ? It is to wait and watch on June 4.
