Perfect Sunday - bake a cake and homemade ice-cream

Hello All, It was so much fun yesterday. I think best time spend with my little one and husband. I was planning to bake a cake for a very long time in the microwave. But for the fast years, I had not gone through the recipe and was just postponing it as I was too busy with my daily work. But then, yesterday, husband darling got into the mood of making ice - cream for my daughter. I was just giving them the beater and teaching them how to use it. Then, looking at my daughter's face, I thought - "well! its getting postponed from quite a few years. let me try it out again." When I told her, "Guess What!!! Mummy is going to bake a cake for all of us especially for you." Her face just lit up. That moment I wouldn't be able to describe in words. It was finally the moment arrived. I made a simple sponge cake which all of us relished. It was just yummmm. A quiet evening but an eventful. The joy of baking which had vanished somewhere, came back to me after many  man...

Trust Yourselves Guys!!!

Hi Everyone,

Today my daughter was trying to reach her color pencils which was not within her reach. I told her “honey wait I will fetch it for you” but then she replied “thank you mommy. I will get it myself”. I was quite astonished and informed her that she would not be able to reach the color pencils as they are far, she is too short, and her hands are tiny. But she kept insisting that she was capable enough of picking those pencils herself. She then bought a stick which she had bought from the garden and tried pushing and pulling the pack. She persisted, kept trying for quite a long time but finally managed to collect her colored pencils. I was quite amazed at her will power and thinking abilities, touch wood, but I must say I conceded defeat and told her how incredible she was in achieving her goal. She trusted her abilities and kept saying “yes, I can” a mantra which I had taught her to never ever give up hope and count on her capability. I was so proud as her mother and her father’s eyes were shining with pride.

Keeping this extra ordinary feat of my little munchkin, I am bringing to you a new movie East Side Sushi, a 2014 film starring Diana Elizabeth Torres who plays the lead character Juana. Juana is a single Mexican – American mother who lives with her father and daughter. After trying her hands in various jobs, she applies to be a sous chef in a Japanese restaurant and is hired. She initially finds herself helping in the kitchen, but the chef there starts explaining her the nitty gritty of Japanese cooking. Her mentor finds her progress to be remarkable. She showcases her skill to the restaurant owner and asks him to promote her as a Sushi Chef, but he turns her down reminding her, her gender and that she is not Japanese.  She enters a contest named ‘Champions of Sushi’ and is selected. Now next what happens is for you to guys to watch and find out.

What is amazing about the film is the immense trust that this young woman places on herself regarding her cooking and presentation skills about authentic Japanese food. The confidence that she can prepare the best sushi cuisine which she has never prepared or tasted in her entire life is phenomenal. If we trust ourselves then nobody can stop us from excelling and achieving our goals. Of course, it’s not merely the trust but hard work and dedication to what we do also goes hand in hand. So, trust yourselves guys and aim for the sky.  I hope you all will love the film and enjoy it.

After reading the blog tell me if she will win the contest or not? Will she become the Champion? Also please post your comments, subscribe, and follow me on Koo App and facebook.

Bye for now. It has been a long, long day.

Love you All,

Namitha
