Hey Everyone,
How are you all? We all love our parents. Don't we? Yes, We do. We all have our own stories to tell. As children probably we have created innumerable memories and still recall and laugh at all our childhood pranks or stories. But, sometimes there are some friends amongst us who might not have wonderful tales to tell. They might have witnessed the most difficult days personally or might have seen their parents or friends or neighbors suffer. We try to imagine that whatever bad is happening will just pass through and we will definitely paint the most beautiful picture for ourselves in the future. As children our minds are so tender, as tender as a flower that we get upset by whatever distressing things happen around us but try to fix it in our mind as we do not have the power as children to fix it practically ourselves.
On this note, today I am bringing to you a 2013 movie - Saving Mr. Banks starring Mr. Tom Hanks as Walt Disney and Emma Thompson as P.L.Travers which I had seen on Netflix. The movie begins with Travers who is the author of Mary Poppins not agreeing to give film rights to Disney, who is pursuing to get the rights for twenty years for a promise made to his daughters. There are sequences in the movie when Ms. Travers sounds annoying even though Disney and his staff give in to all her wishes but there is a reason for it as the character of Mr. Banks is kind of inspired from her own father whom she looses in her childhood and Mary Poppins based on her aunt.
There is a scene in the film, that is, when she reaches the hotel in Los Angeles, she finds most of the Walt Disney Characters in her room especially Mickey Mouse and she gets so much so irritated that she puts them all in the closet and throws all the pears out of her room window. When I saw that scene I felt it was over reaction on her part but later as the movie progresses we understand the reason behind her action. Pears is the favorite fruit of her father and on his death bed he wishes to have it but he passes away without consuming it before young Travers could bring it for him. Even though she appears quite rough and tough from the outside she is very very emotional and a nice human being which we realize towards the end. The story of Mr. Walt Disney is also very moving when he narrates it to Ms.Travers as to how he and his brother had spent his childhood delivering the morning and evening editions of newspapers in all types of weather conditions and how they were not supposed to miss it.
It is a beautiful movie with many lovely moments and wonderful acting by both the actors. I do not want to narrate the entire story to all of you. Instead I would recommend you to watch it but then it is your wish. What I picked from the movie was that, even though we have difficulties or bad memories in any phase of our life we should not hold on to it but let it go. We must use our own story to help others, bring a smile on everyone's face. It should not bog us down but the experiences should help us to take challenges head on and leads to our success. So, please don't hold on to your past, just let it go and apply that experience in other walks of life. Never forget who you are and from where you came. It keeps you grounded and your head straight.
Friends now need to go and do some cooking. Do not forget to comment and follow me on Koo app.
Love you All,
